South Fork of The Boise River,,, In Fuego !

As the irragators in central Idaho turn off the sprinklers the flow in the S Fork drops to super low walkable levels and the fish relocate to their winter environs. These large eager fish can be frustrating from time to time.

BUT ! When it’s on you are likely to catch a good number of fish and some very very large wild rainbows, 20″ to 24″ on dry flies is not uncommon.

The pinks and reds in the sides of these radiant fish are amazing.

These desert canyons are such majestic places.
